Every panel shop says they are good. These are the ones we have a piece of paper for. Independent assessors, manufacturer approvals, insurer nominations.
PREQUAL is the independent assessment scheme insurers use to check whether a panel shop is actually fit to repair their customers' cars. It looks at the equipment on the floor, the qualifications of the people, and the way the shop documents its work. Five stars is the top rating.
Most major insurers in New Zealand will not list a non-PREQUAL shop on their preferred repairer panel. We have held PREQUAL 5-star through the 2021 to 2023 assessment cycle.
The Motor Trade Association is the industry body for the New Zealand vehicle trade, founded 1917. MTA members work to a published code of conduct, and customers can use the MTA Mediation Service if a dispute needs an outside opinion. Worth knowing your shop is on the list.
Approved by Holden for structural repairs to Holden vehicles. Holden bodies (and the equivalent GM platforms still on NZ roads) use high-strength steel that needs specific welding processes, panel sectioning rules, and equipment, especially in the front rails and B-pillar. The approval covers the kit, the procedures, and the people trained on them.
Approved by Hyundai New Zealand for structural repairs. Modern Hyundai and Kia platforms use a lot of ultra-high-strength steel and aluminium in safety-critical areas. The approval means we have the equipment and training to repair them without compromising the crash structure.
Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance handles most Toyota Financial Services policies in New Zealand. We are on their preferred shop list, which means if your insurance is Aioi, you can drive straight in. They pay us direct. You only handle the excess.
FMG Insurance is the rural and farm insurer of New Zealand. A lot of the utes, farm trucks, and family cars on policies around Te Awamutu, Otorohanga, and the wider South Waikato are FMG. We are their preferred shop in this region. Same deal as Aioi, drive in, FMG pays direct, you pay the excess.
We are not on the preferred panel for every insurer, but we still do the work. The process is slightly longer (your insurer wants a quote from us first), the outcome is the same. AA Insurance, IAG (State, NZI, AMI), Vero, Tower, Trade Me Insurance, Cove. Bring the claim number, we do the rest.
